Annaliza Benedicto or Julie Benedicto (formerly, Annaliza Querubin) is the main protagonist of the 2013 soap opera of the same name. The daughter of young couple Isabel and Lazaro, Annaliza grows up in the care of a different father, Guido due to Stella's schemes. Cheerful, God-fearing with a positive attitude, Annaliza learns resilience and reality at an early age. Later in the series, she was reunited with her real parents only to be cut short by her real father's untimely death. Despite this Annaliza's faith and optimism remains steadfast, which earned her a happy life in the end.
Appearance[]
Normally, Annaliza has light brown skin and long black hair. During the early episodes of Annaliza, she can be compared to Cinderella with her shabby clothes and messy hair due to the maltreatments from her stepmother Stella and half- sister Arlene. In later episodes, Annaliza sports beautiful dresses and ballet flats with well kept hair.
Personality[]
Annaliza can be described as an angel or a saint, although she can be unintentionally too friendly. She doesn't want her family to be destroyed because of problems and will fight for what she believes is right. Although very sweet and charming, Annaliza can be very defiant when provoked. She defends her mother against her grandmother, stepmother and real father when Isabel decides to separate with her husband and stands up to Arlene when she has enough of abuse. Posessing a golden heart, Annaliza is very pure and will not commit a sin even if it warrants her life. She also has a renowned talent in cooking which is the key to her reunion with her real parents, Lazaro and Isabel.
History[]
During her infant days, Annaliza was stolen from her parents by Makoy through Stella's orders. Instead of eliminating her, Makoy felt conscience and left Annaliza in young Guido's hands. Guido however, hid her and raised her as his own daughter even though Annaliza kept questioning him who her real mother is (as Guido is young and unmarried). When Guido brought Stella and her daughters home Annaliza thought that her dreams of having a complete family will finally come true. She never thought that her worst nightmares are just begginning to start.

Annaliza's relationship with PJ is ambiguous in the series. In the original series, PJ falls inlove with Annaliza. In the new series however, they were only hinted to be having affection with each other as Annaliza and PJ are too young to be in a relationship (Annaliza was barely eleven).
Glenn[]
Annaliza also develops a seemingly romantic relationship with her adoptive brother, Glenn.
Pating[]
Annaliza's third leading boy is Pating, a former thief who repented because of Annaliza. Annaliza first met Pating in an abandoned market when Pating tried to steal Annaliza's wallet. He disappears midway in the series, however.
Trivia[]
- Annaliza's character in the remake is a bit far from the original series.
- Annaliza's real name is a refference to the original actress who play the role of Anna Liza: Julie Vega.
- An iconic Annaliza scene is shoen where Annaliza prays in front of a Sto. Nino, reiving a memorable scene from the original series. (It is hinted that Annaliza becomes a nun in the end, although the series was abruptly cut short due to Julie Vega's death.)
- Maja Salvador is supposed to play the role of Anna Liza as the teenage Anna Liza and Ella Cruz will be playing the young Anna Liza. There are also rumors that Ella Cruz will be play the teenage Annaliza later in the series, although this did not push through.
